Support In Setting Up A Not-For-Profit Organisation
We regard the advice that we can give to individuals or small groups in working with the community as one of the more valuable services we can offer. Giving the right advice can prevent needless bureaucracy and duplication of effort. Often it can be simply about putting people in touch.
The Glastonbury Trust has several years experience in helping people set up 'not-for-profit' organisations. Normally we would advise you of the necessity or otherwise to set up a 'not-for-profit' at the application stage. Experience has shown us that the process often requires careful guidance. It is not, however, a requirement to be a 'not-for-profit' to obtain a grant from the Glastonbury Trust as long as there is transparency in the application of the funding to the purpose for which it is intended.
If you would like locally based guidance in bringing your community project to fruition or general advice and guidance in setting up your own organisation do not hesitate to get in touch. We will do our best to put you in touch with the right people or support you with our 'in-house' expertise. In the case of local, non-profit making individuals or groups this advice will normally be offered free of charge.
