Volunteering In Central Somerset
We usually have a small number of opportunities for volunteers to work with our own projects or with projects that we support in
the local area. Such opportunities include helping us to maintain our woodland space, working alongside Forest School Leaders or helping maintain our school gardens.
Where working with children, young people or vulnerable adults is involved we will request proof of address, identity, C.V., references and to arrange CRB clearance as appropriate. The procedures are set out in our CODE OF PRACTICE.
Where volunteers demonstrate a long-term interest in our work we will often pay for training towards qualifications, such as Forest School Leader status. We have a practice of recruiting our paid staff from our trained volunteers when appropriate
We have a particular interest in recruiting volunteers who already possess qualifications and/ or experience in the delivery of craft skills, particularly in relation to working with wood in outdoor environments. At the same time there are opportunities for those who have a general interest in promoting creative activities in outdoor spaces .
